Commissioned, operated and maintained the 200 kW transportable cogeneration plant for one year.
Directed the completion of the $500,000 EPRI PQ2000 Battery Energy Storage Project. This 2 MW demonstration project provides uninterruptible power to an entire lithograph plant, allowing the plant to ride through most power interruptions and disturbances that would normally cause plant downtime.
Directed the development and implementation of a marketing program targeted at winning existing customers away from competitors in anticipation of a deregulated electricity market.

As a Regional Director for GTRI, responsibilities included managing and marketing all Georgia Tech and Georgia Tech Research Institute programs and services within the eleven-county area covered by the Madison Regional Office. Additional responsibilities included providing managerial and technical assistance to businesses and industries, including ten Chambers of Commerce, two Regional Development Centers, and about 350 Manufacturing facilities.
Consulting specialties included business management and operations, quality and productivity, and energy services for commercial and industrial business clients. This included making recommendations to companies regarding improving business profitability through process improvements, cost reductions, or energy management programs. Work also included providing assistance to local development groups, commissions, and Chambers of Commerce in identifying potential economic development opportunities.
Provided energy and technical consulting assistance to Georgia businesses through contracts with the state of Georgia, the US Department of Energy, and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Targeted market primarily included schools and institutions, hospitals and nursing homes, and manufacturing facilities. The Industrial Energy Extension Service, funded by the state of Georgia, was considered the premier model for state-supported energy extension programs of its time.
General Electric Company, Mechanical and Nuclear Services, Atlanta, GA – 3 years
Field Service Engineer, Startup and Testing
Provided field engineering and technical consulting expertise to electric utilities that utilized General Electric turbine-generator units.
